Highlights

🔥 Bittensor ($TAO) successfully launched dynamic TAO (dTAO) on Friday, introducing subnet tokens and AMM-powered subnet pools. This overhaul removes manual validator oversight (prone to human bias and error), letting markets determine subnet value.

Interestingly, the top 10 subnets pre-upgrade are very similar to the top 10 now dTAO is live (below). It’s still early days, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out over time. dTAO tokens can be traded on BackProp Finance and Taostats.

🔥 xAI released Grok 3, which is now the leading chatbot across chatbot benchmarks, claiming superiority over OpenAI’s GPT-4o, DeepSeek V3, Claude Sonnet and Google Gemini. The model, trained on synthetic data and powered by xAI’s Colossus supercomputer, introduces DeepSearch, a reasoning-focused search engine. The company has also said they plan to open-source Grok-2 once Grok-3 is fully mature and running smoothly.

🔥 Story Protocol launched its Layer 1 blockchain for intellectual property tokenization, introducing the IP token (currently trading at $2.1B FDV). Story aims to revolutionize how IP is owned and monetized in the AI age through their IPFi platform and RWA tokenization capabilities. Given the project raised a ludicrous amount of money and is attempting to address a multi-trillion dollar problem, this will be an interesting one to watch.
